Images copyright Gilberto Molerio Papa by Skip Cohen If there is a fun aspect of being in lockdown, it's having the time to get to know the work of various artists around the world. Instagram has been especially fun to wander through, and the image above is one of my favorites from Gilberto Moleiro Papa AKA @Gilbertoski. He's from Venezuela and lives in Manchester, England. Stuck inside during the pandemic, he started a series of self-portraits. Gilberto's two foundation images for the above composite are below. But there was a third ingredient to the image that was fun to see - his BTS included a Platypod Max, which he used for his portrait. We've seen a lot of amazing creativity on Platypod's Instagram page, from photographers who are refusing to allow social distancing to stifle their passion for imaging and creativity. Platypod's known for helping artists find a new perspective to capturing images, but the pandemic keeps pushing and expanding the edge of the creative envelope. So many of Gilberto's images can be interpreted the way so many of us are feeling. But they also demonstrate a lot of creativity, at a time for all of us who are finding a new perspective on life. A big thanks to Gilberto for allowing me to share his images.
