She shares some great insight, not just into things she's able to do today, but I asked her what advice she'd give a new photographer about lighting. EDU10 is all thanks to the Profoto team. They never slow down in manufacturing the finest lighting gear in professional photography. EDU10 is all about education, lighting, technology and the ever-changing landscape of growing creative tools. It's also a great way to introduce you to some incredible artists. Based out of New York, Lindsay's best known for her fashion and beauty work, although I doubt there's anything she can't photograph. Her passion for the craft sets the standard for everything she does from being an artist to an educator to an author. And, let's not forget a friend to so many of us in the industry. These podcasts are intentionally meant to be short and to the point, but don't underestimate how much great information Lindsay packed into just six minutes! We did a full podcast with Lindsay on Mind Your Own Business a couple of years ago, and I remember her talking about having her own business at age 15. How incredible to know what she wanted to do as a career at that age. She's never stopped learning, experimenting and pushing the edge of the envelope to become one of the most creative photographers in the industry today. I ran across the short video below on YouTube from Creative Live featuring Lindsay and a "Creative Challenge." It's an excellent way for you to get to know her style and her ability to walk the talk when it comes to experimenting. Check out more of Lindsay's work with a click on any of the images I chose for this post. And, check out the Profoto family of outstanding lighting gear with a click on any of the products below! Traci Maglosky joins me in this new episode of EDU10 and shares some great insight into things she's able to do today, all thanks to Profoto Technology. The Profoto team never slows down in manufacturing the finest lighting gear in professional photography. But, they don't stop there. EDU10 is all about education, lighting, technology and the ever-changing landscape of growing creative tools. This series is all thanks to ProfotoUSA with short podcasts about creativity, and how some of the industry's most respected artists are fulfilling their mind's eye visions with Profoto's technology. Traci Jean Photo Studios is located in Cincinnati, Ohio with a focus on people, primarily maternity, newborns, seniors and weddings. One conversation with Traci and there was no question how much she loves this business. Along with that love comes a deep respect for quality, building relationships, and capturing images that exceed each client's expectations. Traci shares some great content in this new short podcast. One of the things I love about her business model is the logical connections between her specialties...high school seniors get married giving her a steady stream of potential bridal clients. Brides start families and Traci's skill set in maternity, and newborn photography comes into play. She's reinforcing relationship building every time she picks up her camera. Now throw in stylized sessions, and her creativity as an artist and the circle's complete. She's got the passion, the skill set and the gear for stunning images that make her habit-forming. Headed to WPPI at the end of this month? Traci needs to be on your radar - her events calendar is just a click away. She'll be on the Olympus Presenters Stage, and also hosting a WPPI Photowalk on February 28. Her short promotional video really says it all, but that didn't change the fun I had grabbing a few of my favorites for screenshots. Check out more of Traci's work with a click on any of the images I chose for this post. And, check out the Profoto family of outstanding lighting gear with a click on any of the products below! These shorts podcasts are all about creativity and how some of the industry's most respected artists are fulfilling their mind's eye visions with Profoto's technology. The Profoto team never slows down. They believe in manufacturing the finest lighting gear in imaging, but stay focused on education, and helping artists create and capture some of the most beautiful images in photography. I caught up to Bobbi Lane this week for the first episode of EDU10 in the new year. She's an artist, educator, author and a good friend to so many of us in the industry. Her passion is lighting people, and as she points out in this short podcast, Profoto's portability has given her the ability to photograph anywhere and any time! She talks about the images featured in today's post and how Profoto has changed the way she's able to create and capture some of her most favorite images. Interested in traveling with Bobbi and her husband, Lee Varis on one of their photographic adventures? The information on their upcoming Venice Carnival trip is just a click away. Images copyright Sallee Photography. All rights reserved. EDU10 is all thanks to ProfotoUSA. The Profoto team never stops working to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. They not only believe in manufacturing the finest lighting gear in imaging, but they stay focused on education, and helping artists create and capture some of the most beautiful images in photography. JB Sallee joins me on this new episode. He's a photographer, an artist, an educator and a good friend to so many of us in the industry. Working together with his wife DeEtte for the past fourteen years, they've built a reputation for unmatched quality. Their specialty is primarily on people - families, children, brides and grooms but the list goes on and on. And, spend just a few minutes with him and you'll find his passion for the craft is pretty much unmatched. Repeatedly in WPPI print competition, he's led the way with top honors, year after year. Just recently he returned from a Profoto trip to Alaska with some of the most talented artists in professional photography today. It was an introduction to Profoto's new B10, but in addition, an exchange of ideas and creativity. In this new episode, JB shares some terrific insight into how their work has changed thanks to Profoto's Off-Camera Flash Systems. They now have the ability to truly control the light - no matter what time of the day, or for that matter where they are. Click on any of Salle images in this post to visit their website and see more of their work. I've only grabbed a handful of my favorites, but you'll see how hard it is to do the minute you "scroll" into the Sallee galleries. And, check out the new B10 along with Profoto's complete product line with a click on the B10 above. Then, get yourself into a Profoto dealer and check out what all the buzz is about! Images copyright Tony Corbell. All rights reserved. In the 180 year history of photography, artists have never had more creative tools available than today. Many of those tools are thanks to Profoto's technology. Profoto lighting is consistently referred to as a "game changer." EDU10 is sponsored by ProfotoUSA, who never slows down on their focus to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. And who better to join me on an episode than the lighting guru himself, Tony Corbell? He's a photographer, educator, writer and great friend to so many of us in the industry. Teaching workshops all over the world, there's always one point Tony always makes as well as stay true to - he never compromises on the quality of an image, or for that matter his relationships with clients, students, vendors or friends! In this new episode, Tony shares a recent experience of an on-location shoot and some remarkable results relying on Profoto TTL. He's shooting with the Profoto's Off-Camera Flash System and the B1X. For more information on the B1X, just click the thumbnail to the left. See more of Tony's work and check out his workshop schedule with a click on any of his images in today's post. Repeatedly photographers, when talking about Profoto lighting, have used the words "game changers," but those words apply just as much to the staff as they do to their Off-Camera Flash System. The members of the Profoto team set the standard for support. So, I thought it would be fun to start a series of very short podcasts to introduce you to some outstanding artists and share how Profoto's changed the way they capture their images. Sponsored by ProfotoUSA, EDU10 is one more example of how Profoto never slows down on their focus to help photographers raise the bar on the quality of their images. Thanks to support from some incredible artists and educators, we're sharing more ideas to help you expand your mind's eye visions on all the possibilities in lighting. What a kick to have Sue Bryce join me on this new episode. She's an incredibly talented artist, educator, business owner and inspiration to so many of us in the industry. And, through Sue Bryce Education she's helping thousands of photographers not only develop a stronger skill set but a business model that's designed to help them be more successful, profitable and efficient. Check out SueBryce Education with a click on any portrait above, and if you're looking for a remarkable educational opportunity, there are a handful of tickets left for The Portrait Masters 2018 conference in Phoenix. And just to help you get to know Sue a little better, I shared this video last year in a post, but now is the perfect time to bring it back so you can see Sue in action. Isn't it time you visited a Profoto dealer and found out what all the buzz is about? The worldwide dealer locator is just a click away on the B1X banner below. Profoto's not only a leader in education, but the leader in lighting technology offering photographers some of the most creative tools in the history of photography.
Images copyright Michael Anthony. All rights reserved. Please Note: If you saw this post earlier in the day, there were some different images being shared. My apologies to another "Michael Anthony" in professional photography. The original photos were from his work. He's based out of Ft. Lauderdale, and in putting the post together his URL was pulled by mistake. Over the last few years, Profoto's technology has consistently been a "game changer." So, I wanted to have some fun with a series of very short podcasts to not only introduce you to some outstanding artists but to share how Profoto's changed the way photographers light their subjects. EDU10 is sponsored by ProfotoUSA, who never slows down on their focus to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. Today you've got the best and most number of creative tools in the history of photography. With the help of some incredible artists and educators, we're sharing more ideas to help you expand your mind's eye visions on all the possibilities in lighting. Michael Anthony joins me on this new episode. He's an award-winning wedding artist, educator, business owner, and writer. Profoto's Off-Flash System has created an environment for him with virtually no limitations on any event or portrait he photographs. While I don't usually share video's with EDU10 podcasts, check out this short video with Michael talking about three different sessions with a bridal client. I shared it recently as a stand-alone post, but there's so much solid content here, and if you haven't seen it, you can learn a lot watching another artist in action. There's an outstanding contest going on right now as well. Here's your chance to win $10,000 of Michael's Profoto gear and registration at his two-day workshop! And, check out more of Michael's work with a click on his image above.
Images copyright Ana Brandt. All rights reserved. I started this series of short podcasts to not only introduce you to some outstanding artists but to share how Profoto's technology has continued to change the way photographers light their subjects. There are more creative tools for photographers today than at any time in the 175+ year history of photography, and Profoto has certainly contributed to those tools. Edu10 is sponsored by ProfotoUSA, who never slows down on their focus to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. Ana Brandt joins me on this new episode. As one of the industry's leading maternity and newborn artists, she sets the standard for everything from her images to the relationships she builds with her clients...and more. It's not just her images that capture the personalities of her subjects, but her role as an educator, business owner, and innovator who sets the standard for an industry she loves dearly both as a photographer and a designer. "Ana Brandt was the first photographer in the world to design, create and market Maternity gowns to the Photography Industry 13 years ago. She revolutionized the Maternity Photographer industry by setting the design standard for Maternity gowns and use of fabrics for client sessions. Her store www.shopanabrandt.com has shipped her gowns to over 100 countries worldwide." Earlier this year I shared an outstanding Profoto video of Ana working with her clients. It's just a click away. In less than five minutes Profoto and Ana share a lot of excellent content, along with an opportunity to watch the B1X Off-Camera Flash System and Ana in action. Ana's also responsible for one of my favorite quotes: "No one regrets taking photos. People only regret NOT taking photos." Ana Brandt To see more of Ana's work, click on any of the images in this post to visit her website. And, if she's speaking or teaching at any conference you're attending, run don't walk to get a seat! Images copyright Ana Brandt. All rights reserved.
Images copyright Justin Marantz. All rights reserved. EDU10 is a unique series of short podcasts for professional photographers. It's sponsored by ProfotoUSA, who never slows down on their focus to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. "EDU" is for education, while "10" is all about keeping these episodes short and to the point. We're doing our best to keep them to ten minutes and focus primarily on one unique topic, things you can do with lighting today that you couldn't do in the past! Justin Marantz is in the spotlight. Working together with Mary, they represent one of the strongest couples in wedding photography, but not just as artists, but as educators, writers and good friends to so many of us in the industry. They've been instrumental in helping photographers better understand lighting and create stunning images that exceed client expectations. In this new podcast, Justin shares the background story on both of the images in this post. Click on either of them to visit Justin and Mary's website and blog. With their Off Camera Flash Systems, Profoto has completely changed the lighting landscape. Justin and Mary were two of the first artists to be featured using the B1, and Profoto has never slowed down, continuing the expansion of tools artists have to capture some of the best images in the world! Images copyright Elario Photography. All rights reserved. Welcome to EDU10, a unique podcast series for photographers, sponsored by ProfotoUSA and focused on ideas to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. "EDU" is short for education, while "10" is all about keeping the information we want to share short and to the point. We're going to do our best to keep it to ten minutes and focus mostly on one unique topic, things you can do with lighting today that you couldn't do in the past! JP Elario joins me on this first episode. It's a kick to talk with him because I've watched him grow up in this industry. I first met him when he joined his father, Joe, in the early 90's at what was then PhotoEast Expo in NYC. JP was a teenager, hungry to learn and focused on the pursuit of his career as a wedding photographer. Here we are a whole lot of years later, and he's become one of the best photographers in the country. From that spark of passion way back when, I've watched him emerge an artist, educator, business owner, husband, passionate Dad, and always a great friend. He never compromises on the quality of an image or his relationships. In the last few years, Profoto has completely changed the landscape of lighting with their Off Camera Flash Systems. I remember the B1 first being introduced and photographers referring to it as the "Game-changer." Profoto has never slowed down and continue to expand the selection of tools artists have to capture some of the best images in the world! Click on either of JP's images to visit Elario Photography and see more of his work. Then, click the banner below and get to know the lighting gear that's fulfilling more and more photographer's mind's eye visions every day! |
