Down to the Wire...

​It's November 3, and you're down to the wire to have an impact on this year's holiday seasonality. If you have some things you're doing already, then you can stop reading. However, I'm betting many of you have a minimal amount going on and are waiting for the Marketing Fairy to sprinkle magical business dust on your doorstep.

Sorry, I couldn't resist the image on the right. But if you want to meet the real Marketing Fairy, just look in the mirror. You're the only one who can find the magical fairy dust to create more excitement this holiday season.

And if you're stash of ideas is running low, here are some places to start...

  • Call your lab TODAY and simply ask, "What's new?" You're in search of some great products that you haven't offered in the past. You're looking for some easy-to-implement gift ideas for this holiday season.
  • Use your blog and social media to plant the seeds of ideas for gifts involving photography. There's still time to remind Mom that her family is long overdue for an updated family portrait.
  • HOLIDAY CARDS: Whether it's your own card or cards you're offering clients - Like the Nike tagline, "Just do it!" And check out Marathon's Bogo program to save money and increase revenue.
  • The timing is tight, but if you cross-promoted in the next few days with another vendor or two, you could have an impact. For example, get together with a florist and venue popular during the holidays. Build a promotion that supports each other's business.
  • Announce that you're teaching a special class on holiday photos. Whether with a camera or a phone, there are things you do every day without a second thought that will help people improve the quality of their holiday photographs and videos. Share ideas on posing, lighting, composition, and storytelling. Position yourself as the community expert.

Last but not least, use social media to get the word out. Your blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), and even a great personalized-looking email blast have the potential to remind people of your expertise. 

MAKE SOME NOISE! There's still time to have an impact, but if you wait much longer, you'll be at the airport when your ship comes in!
