The Tamron Theater

"All of us tend to think of Tamron as a great manufacturer of optics. Let's face it, they make GREAT glass, but there's another aspect to Tamron's incredible presence in the industry. They believe in education and support for photographers who are working professionals, aspiring pros and serious hobbyists. They're all about helping you with the quality of every image you capture, from their workshops and Tailgate Tour to tech support online, Customer Service and all of their educational material.

In the Tamron Theater we're sharing videos, podcasts, guest posts and images from some of the very best artists in the world.

Welcome to the Tamron Theater!"

Mike Moats has joined us a few times at SCU and in fact most recently shared the back-story on one of his favorite flower images on "Why?"  What I enjoy most about Mike's work is the way he takes us to places we've all been, but we never looked close enough. He's a "landscape" photographer but in the world of close-up/macro.

In this new podcast, Mike shares some terrific insight as we talk about the world of close-up/macro photography. As I mention in the podcast, no matter what your photographic specialty, sooner or later you're going to need to capture images that draw from your close-up/macro skill set!

Another fun part of talking with Mike is the fact that we share many of the same friends, starting with the team at Tamron USA. I first met Mike through the Tamron Image Masters, a talented and diverse group of artists, each contributing regularly to helping to build a stronger photographic industry.
Mike's Tamron Lenses
18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (model B008)
SP 60mm F/2.0 Di II Macro (model G005)
SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC Macro (model F004)
Enjoy the podcast and then check out Tamron's new SP lenses at a Tamron retailer nearest you.

Plus, the Tamron Tech Team is on the road throughout 2016 with the Mobile Learning Center. For June they're scheduled to be in Billings, MT followed by Kenmore and Lakewood, WA. Put their schedule on your radar so you don't miss an opportunity to learn from, and shoot hands-on with some of the very best instructors in photography!

Tamron isn't just making terrific glass; they're helping to make better artists. They're always focused on bringing great educational programs to the industry along with outstanding lenses.
