The Tamron Theater

"All of us tend to think of Tamron as a great manufacturer of optics. Let's face it, they make GREAT glass, but there's another aspect to Tamron's incredible presence in the industry. They believe in education and support for photographers who are working professionals, aspiring pros and serious hobbyists. They're all about helping you with the quality of every image you capture, from their workshops and Tailgate Tour to tech support online, Customer Service and all of their educational material.

In the Tamron Theater we're sharing videos, podcasts, guest posts and images from some of the very best artists in the world.

Welcome to the Tamron Theater!"

Over the past couple of years I've written a lot about Tamron's Image Masters and also shared a number of podcasts and guest posts. Well, over the last week, two Image Masters, Ed Heaton and Kevin Gilligan have shared some stunning images, and I wanted to share them here on the SCU blog.

Ed shared the image below on a blog post yesterday. It was captured with a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC lens @30mm. To read more about the image his blog post is just a click away.

Kevin A. Gilligan, also a Tamron Image Master, shared the image below in an email to me the other day. I was blown away by its impact. It was captured with a SP 70-200MM F/2.8 Di lens. You'll find more of Kevin's work on his website.

The great thing about Tamron's Image Masters is their diversity combined with their artistic skill set. Artists like Ed and Kevin, capture the beauty our mind's eye can't perceive. I've followed them both for a number of years and more than just admiring their work, I cherish considering their friendship.

If the Image Masters aren't already on your radar, it's time. I can promise you'll never be disappointed in the work or ideas they share to help you raise the bar on your own creativity!

The "Dynamic Duo" - Ken and Andre on Tamron Talks

It's Tamron Tuesday and what better way to enjoy it, than with a podcast and video of Tamron's own "Dynamic Duo"? I caught up to Andre Costantini and Ken Hubbard for a fun podcast last week, but before you listen to the podcast above, watch the video below.

The video is their first episode for Tamron's Unofficial Field Guide last year. It's essentially the story of two knucklehead photographers traveling throughout the United States. If you know me, then you understand my use of the word "knucklehead" is a total compliment. I love the passion the two of these artists share.  Right off the bat you'll start to pick up on their "odd couple" approach to creativity - they may see things differently, but they each repeatedly find that very special decisive moment.

They've been friends and worked together for over thirteen years, and you couldn't ask for two more focused and dedicated artists and educators! And, they're launching a new season shortly - so stay tuned to Tamron's website and the Tamron Theater.

Check out more of Andre and Ken's work. Click on two of Tamron's FREE eBooks below to download and see more of their images.

Headed to WPPI this weekend? Swing by the Tamron booth (609) and introduce yourself to Ken and Andre along with the rest of the Tamron team. Plus, check out the new SP lenses. There are now four in the series, the SP35mm, SP45mm, SP85mm, and SP90mm.

Just as impressive as Tamron's glass and optical technology, is there focus on education and helping photographers raise the bar on the quality of the images and skill set. You can check out all of Tamron's product line with one click to their website.

See you in the Tamron booth at WPPI!
