The Tamron Theater

"All of us tend to think of Tamron as a great manufacturer of optics. Let's face it, they make GREAT glass, but there's another aspect to Tamron's incredible presence in the industry. They believe in education and support for photographers who are working professionals, aspiring pros and serious hobbyists. They're all about helping you with the quality of every image you capture, from their workshops and Tailgate Tour to tech support online, Customer Service and all of their educational material.

In the Tamron Theater we're sharing videos, podcasts, guest posts and images from some of the very best artists in the world.

Welcome to the Tamron Theater!"

Spotlight Profile: Charley Voorhis

It's Tamron Tuesday!  At this point I've shared spotlight profiles of just about all the  Tamron Image Masters.  They're an incredibly diverse group and Charley Voorhis is certainly no exception. I love the way his work is described on the Tamron Image Master site:

After attending a tech school for production then moving onto film school at Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura California, Voorhis launched, Voortex Productions in 2004. Focusing primarily on promotional documentaries, and short films, often working with towns and communities, he applies a signature style to his productions. Telling an emotive story takes precedence, keeping things simple, elegant and authentic. He understands somethings are better left un-told and merely shown.

Charley is a filmmaker, so it was fun to pick three of his productions from his galleries at random to share. I chose one from "Communities", one from "Companies" and one from "Makers".  The text below describing the pieces in "Makers" is a great example of the way Charley looks at his subjects:

It's the people in our communities that shape the values of our culture. People who live out their heritage, or who break ground on new innovations. It's people and their determination to grow and improve that continue to push our communities into the future.
