Help With Close Ups by Jillian Bell

It's Tamron TUESDAY!

There's an incredible amount of helpful information in Tamron's archives, their blog and their website.  Back in the ebook library I found another outstanding resource for a special application, close up photography.

Remember, there are more in the series, but I chose to share Jillian's today, because close up work has so many potential applications in all of the different specialties. It's an especially effective skill in wedding photography when it's important to capture some of the details to tell the story.

I love Jillian's comment about the image above...

"One thing I thoroughly enjoy about abstract macro is there are no rules for orientation like in landscape or portrait photography.  If there are strong vertical lines, present it vertically.  If the shadows work better presented upside down - do it.  It is up to you the photographer to decide.  There are times I am unsure of a photo I have taken and will rotate it in all orientations to find the most dramatic composition.  In abstract macro, your final image is more about the creative concept and less about what object was photographed. "
