Working together with Photodex, we started this new series to help you raise the bar on your business.

It's a challenge being a business owner today.  Every day there are new questions that come up, and we decided one of the best ways to help you was to enlist the advice of noted professionals in photography. This is our third podcast, and it's time for you to meet Levi Sim.

Levi came into the world of photography just five years ago, but he's the ultimate ambassador and it didn't take long for him to build an amazing network. Some people are simply born with a gift for being easy to work with and even easier to know.

Although Levi's core business is photographing people, I'm not sure there isn't anything he can't photograph or isn't willing to learn. The only thing that trumps his passion for imaging is his love for his family and dedication to his friends.

Technology is constantly creating new tools to raise the bar on your technique, expand your reach and offer your clients new and creative products that help you build your brand and your business. Each artist featured in the Building Your Business spotlights all share a common denominator. They're using Photodex software to build slide shows of still images and videos to create exciting products for their clients.

Levi's "Steve Jobs Portrait Project," featured in the slide show below, has become a trademark along with his fedora. And, if you spot him at any trade show, convention or workshop he'll never be without a camera or a smile. He even got me to stand still at the Bay Photo Welcome Party before the start of WPPI last March.

You can check out more of Levi's on his website  and you'll also find him on Photofocus.

Intro by Skip Cohen

This is our second podcast in the new Spotlight Series, Building your Business. It's a collaborative effort from Photodex and SCU, with several goals in mind. We want to help you raise the bar on your business, brand, revenue, skill set and marketing. We're sharing advice and experiences from some of the very best artists and business people in photography.

William Innes, like many of you, didn't start out his career as a photographer. In fact, he came into photography from the aerospace industry, but marketing and being an entrepreneur are the same in virtually every business. In this post, he shares some of the key milestones in building his brand.

While he's very much into the art of photography, he's very focused on the importance that it's also his business and livelihood. To make his work different from his competitors, he has to be creative and stay cutting edge on technology. He never slows down on his quest to understand all the creative tools at his fingertips, including hybrid video solutions for his clients.

William is a Panasonic Luminary and talks very openly about how LUMIX technology combined with ProShow software has elevated his work over and over again. He's regularly producing slide shows for his clients and utilizing the very best of hybrid solutions, combining short video clips with still images, for his clients.

"I use it as a marketing tool. I actually create a little two or three-minute slide show of the wedding, but my clients don't know they're getting it. It's one of those things I use to stay in touch with them a couple of weeks after their wedding. I send them a link that they can share with their friends and family. It helps me to prolong the excitement of the wedding day and the work I've done."

Technology is constantly creating new tools to raise the bar on your technique, expand your reach and offer your clients new and creative products that help you build your brand and your business. A big thanks to Photodex for their never-ending quest to provide the industry with new products to help make your images unique, including educational posts and this new series.

You can check out more of William's  work in the video below, and you'll find even more on his website and in Panasonic's Lumix Lounge.
