As a professional photographer you're expected to be a great storyteller. In this new guest post, family and lifestyle photographer, Kristi Bonney, takes on the perfect journey, a day in the life of one of her clients.  If a picture's worth a thousand words, then this assignment Kristi just completed is the equivalent of any of Shakespeare's works.

This post is part of a trifecta. Check out Kristi's Tamron Tips video on storytelling for some terrific insight and help in making yourself a better storyteller. Then, check out Tamron's new lens of the month and one of Kristi's favorites!

You can check out more of Kristi's work on her website. She's definitely somebody who should be on your radar!

In the midst of our busy everyday lives there are moments of profound beauty. Use the power of photography to document and share your life's beautiful story, one moment at a time.

Life is hectic and all-consuming; filled with deadlines, meetings, places to go, people to see, and yet another basketball practice that Parker needs to be shuttled to. Swept up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often overlook those little everyday ordinary moments that, when strung together, make for an incredibly beautiful story.

As a lifestyle photographer, I use the power of storytelling to create images that convey a family's personality, love, and unique life story.

While photographing families interacting with each other during shoots brings me joy, it's the little moments in their daily lives that I find most compelling.

I recently had the privilege of photographing Heather Teague; documenting her life for an entire day as it unfolded. Unscripted. Unrehearsed.
Picture
A busy mother, high school Spanish and CrossFit teacher, Heather is also a competitive CrossFit athlete undergoing intense training for an upcoming competitive event. Her story, like yours, is a thing of beauty begging to be documented and shared.

Armed with my Tamron SP 24-70 F/2.8 Di VC Lens, I photographed Heather throughout her day with a few objectives in mind: convey and evoke emotion, capture Heather's environment and her relationship with it, and document the often overlooked details that make up Heather's life and her unique story. With a little bit of patience, the use of unique perspectives and compelling composition, and my fast and versatile Tamron Lens, I walked away with a collection of images that tell of Heather's beautiful life.
