 Intro by Skip Cohen

I'm always amazed at artists who take shortcuts and become the textbook definition of one of my grandmother's favorite expressions, "Penny wise and dollar foolish!" Seriously, what good is working to capture the finest images of your life, but not paying attention to the color quality/accuracy of the image? And, when the color is off, if you're lucky to catch it, you'll spend way too much time trusting your eyeballs until you say to yourself, "That's good enough!"

A few weeks ago I was hanging out with Matthew Jordan Smith, an X-Rite Coloratti and incredibly talented artist and educator. He was teaching a workshop in Orlando and it was great to catch up to him. There's no reason to show you his complete presentation, because Lindsay Adler covers the importance in the short video below. But I do love sharing one more voice from a well-respected photographer who realizes the power of X-Rite's ability to simply make your images better! It's a ten-second statement about the role X-Rite has played in every image of Matthew's.
There's no excuse for taking shortcuts on color accuracy when it's so easy to do it right. X-Rite isn't just the leader in color calibration for photography and video, but a leader in education with special workshops all year long, including FREE webinars every month to help you raise the bar on the quality of your images. And, if you've missed any of their past presentations, it's time to visit the archives! They never slow down!

A big thanks to X-Rite, Lindsay and Matthew for never compromising on the quality of an image!
