All three of the Photodex/SCU contests have been loaded with incredible creativity, images and storytelling. This last contest, focusing on the creative story-telling skills of wedding artists, was one of the most difficult to judge. Congratulations to every artist who entered.

The winner for the final contest for 2014 is Michael Bassiakos of Camshot Cinematography in Greece. Here's his winning entry, Love in the City of Lights, which tells the story of a wedding in Paris.

Together, Photodex and SCU are searching for the ultimate wedding story.  It has to be told through the creative use of photos, videos and audio. Enter your best wedding and engagement videos for a chance to win some fabulous prizes from Panasonic, ProFoto, Colormunki, Resource Magazine and Photodex.

As with each contest, we have a stellar panel of judges, all with good solid experience in wedding photography as well as being educators, William Innes, Kristen Jensen andNeal Clipper.

We had a terrific response to our first contest and now the second one is underway. This one has a very special theme designed to work with those vacations so many of you are going to be doing over the summer.  It's about adventure, nature and landscape videos. Photodex and SCU are looking for great video storytellers and you just might be the next one in the spotlight.

Besides great prizes from Panasonic, Profoto, Photodex and X-Rite, the winning video will be published on the Resource Magazine website. It's an incredible opportunity for great gear and recognition!

Winner Announcement: September 20, 2014

Technology has changed so many different aspects of the photographic industry today. One of those changes is in video. Each of you have the ability to raise the bar on what you offer your clients, including slide shows and video. With each contest we're looking for great creativity in the combining of still images and video and once again, we've got a stellar team of judges.

There were some outstanding videos submitted in this first chapter of the three part The Ultimate Story Contest. The winner is Gareth Rockliffe.Check out his website for some stunning landscape images. His work is beautiful and it's interesting to watch the video he submitted, which was done for Florida Gulf Coast University and has the same quality in his telling of the FGCU story as his still images.

The second chapter in the contest kicks off on July 1. You'll find complete details on the link below within the next few days! In addition to the winner receiving a Panasonic LUMIX GH3 with 20mm lens, a $500 gift certificate to Profoto lighting and accessories, a Colormunki Photo and a year's subscription to ProShow Web Premium, Garreth's video will also be shared on Resource Magazine's website!

Nobody can tell the story of an event better than a photographer and Photodex and SCU want to recognize your ability to tell a story.

Welcome to our search for the Ultimate Story.  We know you're buried in contests from all over the industry, but this one is a lot different. We've got three great judges, each themselves master storytellers, some great partners to help sponsor the event and a great publication to help us spread the word when we've found the winner.

The video below will fill you in more and then a click on the link and you can get all the details, prize information and meet the judges.  This first contest in the series kicks off April 1. Final date for submissions is June 10 and the winner will be announced on June 20, 2014.

This is more than just another photography contest. This is about finding great storytellers and with this first contest, it doesn't matter what your story is about - weddings, vacations, outdoor/wildlife, family, children and pet photography, whatever your creative spirit decides to share.
