In the hierarchy of why people hire a professional photographer in the portrait/social categories, the top three are brides, babies and pets. That's based on a Kodak survey done years ago and I don't believe it's changed one bit over time. In addition, when it comes to pets, 65% of American households have a pet and there are almost 200 million dogs and cats in the U.S.
Well, it's Tamron Tuesday and I found this little tutorial by Brittany Craft in Tamron's archives. It's all about pet photography with some good tips, as well as ideas on Brittany's favorite focal lengths when shooting pets. If photographing pets isn't in your skill set, it's time to pick up a few pointers. The key, with anything in photography is getting out and making sure you practice.
A big thanks to Tamron USA for allowing me to share this video...their never-ending support of education in photography and best of all, making some incredible glass!
If you're not up to date on all the new lenses from Tamron, check the schedule for the Tamron Tailgate Tour. Their tech reps are on the road all year long and just might be coming to location near you. Here's a great opportunity to bring some incredibly talented artists into your network and "test drive" a few new lenses!
