by Skip Cohen These days the words "joy" and "fun" for most of us are buried beneath the stress of the pandemic. Whether you're in lockdown with family or flying solo, it's often hard to find something to smile about. At the same time, I know from what Sheila and I are feeling now; the only thing that beats the anxiety, frustration, and sadness are those moments of joy we make an effort to find. During the f64 Lunch Bunch a couple of weeks ago, Anne Geddes gave us an idea. She talked about sharing moments of joy from her followers on Instagram. Well, why not do it right here on the SCU blog? A big thanks to so many people who have been sending me reminders that joy is still alive and well! Here's the next installment in the series from around the industry. Click on any image to link to the artist's website or Facebook page. And if you want to share your own images of joy, please send them to me! Scott Kelby - "This is an iPhone shot my wife Kalebra took of one of our three doggos enjoying the sun. This is Nami- she’s a Belgian Turvian, and is actually our son’s dog (he’s staying with us through this quarantine, and we’re thrilled they’re both here). She’s best friends (More like cousins) with our dog Maki. These two bring us a lot of joy, along with “Maggie the Wonderdog.” Bob Davis - "This is a recent photograph from the other day that brightens my soul! I have to admit it; it's challenging to remain up and positive with all the negative news. I do my best to switch it off, but want to stay informed. This afternoon the sun broke through the clouds, Dawn was enjoying a conversation with our dear friend, the sound and tone of her voice lifted my spirits immediately, I came into the room, and Hunter was chasing the light reflecting off her phone, he's a seeker of light like me. In this moment are two beings that I love ❤️ more than I can express, and the light! Ah, the sun lifted me, filling me. At this moment I know we will be alright." Deb Sandidge - "The joy of grilling out at the end of the day.
Dining outside in the fresh air. It’s becoming a new ritual that is a lot of fun!"
