Random Thoughts on a Sunday Morning

Listen to your hunches, pay attention to your intuition, do not dismiss your random thoughts, inspirations or ideas...they could be giving you the best advice you ever had.

Off the topic of business and marketing, it's a typical Sunday morning - just a little earlier than usual. As I sat in bed trying to sleep just a little later, my thoughts were completely random, and that's when I decided to share the morning barrage of ideas and questions that popped into my head.

  • Will somebody remind me why we turn our clocks back? I know Arizona and Hawaii don't comply, but what about the rest of us? All we've done is move from dark mornings to lighter mornings.
  • What am I going to write about for Sunday Morning Reflections?
  • Why do they call this approaching time in my life my "Golden Years." Ever notice how just after the warranty on your car goes, so do critical components? From brakes to fuel pumps, etc., it all seems to go the minute the warranty expires.
  • Where are we doing our holiday card shot?
  • Are the pups up yet? They don't know about daylight savings time.
  • Do we have our reservations for IUSA? I can't wait to catch up with old friends in January and make new ones.
  • What are we making for breakfast this morning? Sundays are usually French toast, but there's a perfect avocado ready to go, and avocado toast with an egg would be ideal.
  • Shopping for gifts this year needs to be early - I was thinking about the nightmare USPS created last year with a month or more delivery time, not to mention lost shipments.
  • The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So, what do I want to do differently in my business and my life for 2022?

Seriously, Hollywood can't write stuff this bizarre - but my head just jumped from thought to thought like the Mexican jumping beans I had as a kid. It was only for forty-five minutes, but each idea stuck long enough to be a mini-agenda for this morning and at least a few items I can take action on now.

And there you have it - the way my day started, but I can't help but wonder if I'm the only one whose brain does a round of spin-art now and then with a series of thoughts that just aren't connected.

Wishing everybody a day of random thoughts that makes sense, mixed with random acts of kindness. Always go for those eleven-second hugs with the people you love and trust the most. Make it a day to remember, regardless of how ordinary it might seem.

Happy Sunday...or Monday, if you're on the other side of the world!
