by Skip Cohen Stuck a little for what to write about, I went back to one of my first Sunday Morning Reflections almost ten years ago. I was a little surprised about the topic, but it gave me a foundation for this morning. As usual, I'm off track - far from topics like marketing and business. If you've joined me on Sundays before, then you already know the direction I take. Past comments suggest the more I go off track, the better. "Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows." Pope Paul VI As I've gotten older, I've noticed how fast time flies by. I'm aware of how quickly one memory seems to melt into another, and another. I've found myself caring about things that never mattered and being concerned about issues that always seemed so far removed. I've noticed that I've become obsessed with the state of our country and the complete disregard for We the People, from a government that overall doesn't care. That feeling is disrupting the peace in our lives. I've lost respect for most of America's leaders, but that's not really my point -- It's worrying about things I can't control that it's having an impact on a level of happiness that I do control. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. Here's my point: live life to the fullest. With age comes a special awareness—I realize how short life is, and how quickly time flashes by. It's fine to recognize things you should have done differently in the past, but life isn't about what's in your rearview mirror; it's about the journey ahead of you. Learn from your regrets, including being focused on so much that's outside our control. It's simply time to move on to that next special moment. Wishing you a day filled with peace, love, and memory-making moments. Take the time to remind those people most important to you of the special role they play in your life. Go for those therapeutic eleven-second hugs. And, just to play off one of my favorite sunsets above - great sunsets can't be a part of your life if you don't take the time to look at them! Most important of all - don't let current events interfere with your dreams! No matter what gets in the way, nothing takes priority over dreams! Happy Sunday...or Monday on the other side of the world. "A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams."
John Barrymore "Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction." Germany Kent
