Okay, so before any of you criticize my abilities as a photographer, remember I don't shoot full time. My passion is helping companies and photographers with the business/marketing side of photography. However, over the years I've had some amazing teachers and been fortunate to have worked with some of the very best artists in our industry. The two images below were all captured with Panasonic's LUMIX GH3, including the video. It's a kick to use this camera. One of the features I love the most is its low light capabilities. The turtle and the jelly fish were photographed at the New England Aquarium and in all honesty, they shouldn't be this good. These are jpegs, with no manipulation whatsoever. The video below was put together for a recent Panasonic LUMIX Dealer Meeting. I was honored to be asked to be this year's emcee/host and wanted to share my experience with the GH3. I don't profess to be a professional photographer, even though I know more than I let on. However, I'll match my passion and pure love of photography with anybody. For the most part, all of these images are right out of the can. I often shoot aperture priority and love a few of the in-camera creative tools, especially when playing with a little more saturation when photographing cars. If you think about the purpose of this video, I guess you could call it self-promotional of either the way I enjoy photography or the product itself. It's the perfect introduction to Photodex and the next Photodex/SCU contest! We're searching for the best self-promotional video from you. Thanks to technology and trends in marketing you've got an amazing opportunity to create a video that tells the story of your business, products, services you offer and most important of all, your passion for capturing memories. Plus, we've got the very biggest and best prize package of any contest we've done together yet. In the mean time, kick back for two minutes and allow me to show you what the GH3 can do. Remember, I'm not a professional...but you are! Imagine what LUMIX can do in the hands of artists who really know what they're doing! A big THANKS to the Photodex team for creating products that are so easy to use. While they did help me with this video, I've used their software for years and as a representative of the low-tech side of the industry I feel like I should be there poster child: 'If Skip can do it anybody can!"
