It's rare you find a workshop where one of the finest wedding and portrait photographers in the world is teaching a class for beginners. It just doesn't happen! Well, watch this older video promoting one of Clay's tours and you'll understand why he's one of the very best! While there's nothing Clay can't shoot, his first love is definitely wedding photography. In keeping with the whole SCU goal, we work hard at every program to make sure attendees leave with information they need to be successful. Well, we can't think of anything that would give a beginning wedding photographer a better chance at success than to spend a day with one of the finest wedding photographers in the world. Oh yeah, we just said, "world". Here's your chance to make sure you're off to a strong start. Just remember, you've got to understand the basics of photography to start and then take advantage of your opportunity to build a relationship with one of the greatest educational resources in the industry, Clay Blackmore.

Michele Celentano is proof that hyper-active kids grow up and get jobs and have careers. We know of nobody with more non-stop energy than Michele. In fact, at least year's program she taught one evening as long as her class wanted her to keep teaching. This video is a promotional piece that Michele did for her own workshops, but here's what she doesn't tell you. She's non-stop passion about family portraiture. Her new book released earlier this year is a best seller, loaded with outstanding content to help elevate family portraiture. When she teaches she gives her class everything she possible can to help them develop the skill set to create/capture stunning family images. She's a constant believer in education and over the years attended program after program taught by the finest photographers in the professional community and now, she's become one herself! You name it and Bob's probably shot it. Over the years he's photographed weddings, portraits and commercial work. He's also been a regular judge year after year in print competitions all over the United States. Over the last couple of years he's worked hard to redirect his business, shooting more commercial and fine art work. But the real benefit of a workshop with Bob goes far deeper than just expanding your skill set, this year into fine art. Bob's experience as a business owner is invaluable. He's a solid resource for so many photographers in the industry and his images are all about creating a stunning uniqueness, whether the client is a commercial account or a consumer interested in his fine art work. This year his SCU program is all about fine art, but the application goes beyond what most people think belongs in a gallery. The center image above is part of a fine art exhibit that's ongoing in a local jazz bar/restaurant in Sedona. It's morphed into not just the decor of the restaurant, but CD covers and portraits of the artists themselves. It might have started as fine art, but it's a full blown commercial application today. When I first met Bob and Dawn Davis it was to look at album they had done for an event Oprah hosted. It remains one of the most beautiful albums I've ever seen. That was close to ten years ago. Since then I've watched them grow as photographers, educators and brilliant marketers. Without question, Bob's third greatest passion, next to Dawn and his family is lighting. While his primary focus is weddings, there's nothing he can't shoot. In fact, looking through a Davis album, you'll see a little of everything from traditional wedding work to table top. I chose to share the video above from his WTF series, because it shows some real ingenuity to get the shot - but everything is a team effort. Here's the link to Dawn's contribution and turning the image into something outstanding! Bob and Dawn are one of the strongest teaching couples in professional photography today. There's a good chance you're going to learn a lot more than just great lighting! |
